Storms on the move packing a punch through the evening. See how long they last in this update.
Storms are on the move this afternoon draped from Flagler and Volusia back to the west all the way into Sumter county.
As the storms move east between 20-35 mph, there have been a few severe thunderstorm warnings issued. The storm cells are bringing heavy rain, strong wind gusts between 40-60 mph, and quarter-sized hail. An isolated spin up can't be ruled out.
Expect this stormy activity to continue east toward the coast through the evening. Gradual clearing behind the storms will begin first over western counties and then later in the evening for the coast.
A few showers could linger late, then expect partly cloudy skies with lows in the mid 70s.
A cold front will bring more rain early Sunday morning with storms beginning as early as 5 a.m. mainly northwest of I-4 and then progressing toward the metro by midmorning and then to the south by the afternoon.
Rain and additional cloud cover will keep high temperatures in the mid-to-upper 80s Sunday afternoon.
Rain chances begin to dwindle to 20-30% for the start of the work week before drying out. It will be warm in the upper 80s Monday and Tuesday before heading back to the 90s midweek into next weekend.
